Il Filo di Malacalza è Superconduttivo27/05/2013
The leading Italian business magazine "Il Mondo" tells the story of Columbus Superconductors, perhaps one of the most unknown activities of the Malacalza family.
The Columbus superconducting MgB2-based wire has a hi-tech core that results, however, from a simple manufacturing process got from the iron and steel industry.
Several researchers and engineers joined Columbus, whose wire has been already employed in the anti-claustrophobic magnetic resonance.
Despite of this success, Columbus has just breached the energy field through the accession to an international consortium, whose aim is to demonstrate the feasibility of the 10MW wind turbine.
