NOVEMBER, 2-4 - 2009- Columbus is present at ISS'2009 (Tsukuba, Japan) and will give a presentation titled 'ADVANCES IN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION OF MgB2 WIRES' on Nov. 3rd

OCTOBER 2009 - First open-MRI commercial application based on our MgB2 wire product installed in a private clinic in Italy

SEPTEMBER 2009 - CERN has successfully completed the first test of a 12-strand MgB2-based cable designed for 3kA at 25K - critical current exceeded 11 kA at 4.5 K in self field

OCTOBER 2008 - Columbus Superconductors has successfully completed the first test production of its longest wire of more than 3.2 Km in length and 1.13 mm in diameter

July 2008 - Columbus Superconductors has completed the supply of 32 lengths of about 600 meters each to SINTEF Energy Research (Trondheim, Norway) for the Induction Heater project  named Aluheat and funded by the EU under the FP6

NOVEMBER 2006 - the first images obtained with the first MgB2 superconductive MRI sysstem operating at 20 K are obtained in PARAMED Srl, a sister company of Columbus and ASG Superconductors :the 3 companies are all of the same Malacalza Group.

AUGUST 2006 - The results of the tests on MgB2/MgB2 superconductive joints and of the first Magnet in MgB2 for MRI applications are presented in ASC 2006 conference in Seattle.

JULY 2006 - The first superconductive Magnet using MgB2 wires produced by Columbus Superconductors for MRI application operating at 20 K is completed and tested in ASG Superconductors.

JULY 2006 - ASG Superconductors realize the first superconductive joints MgB2/MgB2 with wires produced by Columbus Superconductors.

MAY/JULY 2006 - Columbus Superconductors Srl I become Columbus Superconductors Spa, the majority of the shares are taken by ASG Superconductors Spa ;capital is increased to 1.404 millions euro

MARCH 2005 - Columbus Superconductors delivers its first 1.600 meters long batch of MgB2 superconducting tape and it starts the regular production of similar lengths.

JULY 31, 2004 - Columbus Superconductors delivers its first 437-meter long world-record MgB2 multifilamentary tape to Ansaldo Superconduttori Spa for double-pancake winding tests.
